Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of Avand. By creating an account you agree to them.

This is a working draft, not final legal text. It will be reviewed by a qualified lawyer before launch.
Our role — a marketplace, not your therapist
Avand is an intermediary platform. Therapy is provided by independent, self-employed therapists who form a treatment relationship directly with you. We facilitate discovery, scheduling, secure communication and payment, and charge therapists a commission per session.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding agreement to create an account.
Your account
Keep your sign-in details secure and your information accurate. You are responsible for activity on your account.
Booking, cancellations and the 24-hour rule
Sessions are booked as recurring weekly slots. You cannot cancel within 24 hours of a session's start, and patient-initiated cancellations are limited to two per rolling 90-day period. The exact rules are shown when you book.
Fees and payment
Session fees are set by your therapist and shown before you book. Avand retains a commission from each session; the remainder goes to the therapist. Taxes may apply.
Not an emergency service
Avand does not provide crisis or emergency care, and messages are not monitored around the clock. If you are in danger, contact your local emergency services.
Acceptable use
Use the platform lawfully and respectfully. Do not misuse it, attempt to access others' data, or disrupt the service.
Intellectual property
Content you create remains yours. The platform, its software and brand remain ours. Therapist-authored articles belong to their authors.
Liability
Clinical responsibility for your care rests with your treating therapist. To the extent permitted by law, Avand is not liable for the therapy itself. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Suspension and termination
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend accounts that breach these terms or put others at risk.
Complaints, governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Please raise complaints with us first. EU consumers can also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform:
